Hammered copper and Amethyst drop necklace

An entirely hand crafted copper circle pendant with faceted Amethyst dangle and chain.

The circle, or ring, has been freehand formed in heavy gauge copper wire and soldered closed, then hammered for hardness, shape and texture. I've made a double ended copper tendril which coils around the ring and forms the hanging bail, ending with a melted blob of copper on each end.

The pendant has been antiqued by oxidising to black, then polishing back the proud surfaces to leave the texture and details enhanced.  There is a large faceted Amethyst stone on a matching copper dangle - I love how purple looks against copper.

The pendant hangs from an antiqued copper chain which closes with a hand formed hook and loop, antiqued to match the chain and pendant.

The chain shown in the photographs is my own, but one just the same will be made for you to order when you advise me of the finished length that you'd like it, up to 550mm (22") - you can have longer too for a small supplementary charge.

The circle is 22mm (0.8") in diameter and drops 48mm (1.9") overall from the chain. The bail has an internal diameter of 6mm (¼") to allow easy switching to other chains and thongs for a different look.  The faceted Amethyst stone is 12mm (½") in diameter.
