Twisted antiqued copper loop earrings

After having to twist some wire to repair a household object, I was intrigued with the results and wanted to try using some twisted wire in pieces. I played with various combinations of weights of wire and these earrings are made from 2 lengths of the same gauge twisted loosely.

After twisting the wire lengths together I made it into these wrapped loops, which I antiqued it heavily to bring out the texture of the twists in the metal.

The earrings hang 43mm (1.7") overall from the top of the hand crafted copper earwires, which have been hammered lightly for strength and the ends filed for comfort. The loops are 20mm (0.8") at their widest.

The earrings were extensively tumble polished when first made, then again after antiquing to give it a lovely silky shine and feel.
